Yaacobi entered on Israeli art scene

Arrived in Jerusalem 14 years ago, this former Parisian has, all this time, left his paintings in the private sphere. He was born in Tunis. His father operated a thriving business, importing second-hand clothing from Baltimore and New York.
Because of the lack of religious Jewish life in Tunisia, the family moved to Paris, although the French capital was not yet the makom Torah it is today. He attended a general school and was introduced to the world of art by two friends, ons of a Chinese diplomat. At 13, he traveled to learn in the yeshiva of Aix-les-Baines. “My life was shaped in the yeshiva,” he said. “Anyone who learned under Rav Chaikin owes him his spiritual world.”
